Stan Badgett and his wife live in the mountains of western Colorado, where they raised four children. In earlier years he worked in the coal mines and taught wilderness survival skills; later he made his living in Aspen as an artist. He spent the last dozen years teaching English at Alpine Christian Academy and Colorado Mountain College.
Stan has a B.A. in Fine Arts and an M.A. in Language and Communication from Regis University in Denver, Colorado with additional graduate work at Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College. His work has appeared in a number of literary journals, including The New York Quarterly. He has written a memoir about growing up in the West and working in the coal mines.
